Principal’s Message

Purgolder Parents & Students:

Welcome to Washington High School of Information Technology (WHSoIT)! We are so excited to start the 2020-21 school year. Everything is new in this virtual world and all we can do is embrace it. This school year will start off VIRTUAL and slowly integrate back into the traditional schedule. We are here to assist you with any of your technology needs to make sure that all of our students are ready to start school virtually DAY ONE.

The Milwaukee Public Schools and WHSoIT have been working hard to be prepared to greet all students VIRTUALLY on August 10 using the digital platform Google classroom. Teachers are preparing engaging lessons that meet the instructional rigor all students deserve. We also encourage our students to get and stay involved in extracurricular activities. We are excited to have several seniors join the M-cubed College Connections program who will earn 22 college credits from UWM and MATC during this school year. College and career preparation is something we take seriously as you can see and we also provide financial opportunities to our students that want to attend college. That support comes from Washington High School Alumni Association which offers one the most generous Alumni Scholarship opportunities for Purgolder students.

At Washington you will come to understand that we employ an all hands-on deck philosophy. Through fostering positive relationships with students and families, our aim is to work with our village to create students with lifelong skills that will enable them to successfully navigate high school and life.

Yours in the journey,
Angelena Terry
