From the Assistant Principal in Charge
PurGolder Parents & Students:
Congratulations, you are officially part of the Washington High School of Information Technology (WHS of IT) PurGolder family. We are delighted by your choice to continue your educational goals with us. The teachers, staff and administrators at WHS of IT are dedicated to the academic achievement of all students. Through fostering positive relationships with students and families, our aim is to support all students to college and beyond. We will work hard every day to create a successful and rewarding educational environment and experience.
We need all hands-on deck so we encourage you and your family to become an involved member of the PurGolder family. High school should be one of the best times of a student’s life. However, it is also a time when a child needs their families the most. Students will start to make plans which will impact his/her future academic and career goals. Parents please stay involved. Our school offers a variety of co-curricular activities for students. We strongly encourage every student to be active and take advantage of the activities, programs and resources offered. The programming opportunities offered at WHS of IT are promising and have a direct pathway to post-secondary institutions. Students are encouraged to define a National Academy Foundation (NAF) focus, which is closely aligned to post-secondary options. Whether you are learning about the field of technology, tourism, or culinary arts, we have many business partners that are invested in helping your child reach his/her dreams and growing into the professional he/she desires. To support further post-secondary opportunities, our school offers one the most generous Alumni Scholarship opportunities for our PurGolder students.
This handbook is provided to members of the WHS of IT Community in order to communicate general information, policies and procedures associated with our school. The included policies and guidelines are periodically updated. Please contact the main office at 414-875-5900, to obtain additional information or clarification regarding updates to policies and procedures in this handbook. We hope you find this handbook to be an informative and helpful resource. Make it a great year!
Sincerely yours,
Alex Kuxhause

From our Parent Coordinator:
Dear Parents and Guardians of Washington High School,
My name is Von McDade, the new Parent Coordinator at Washington. I was the 1991 Wisconsin Basketball Player of the Year at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and drafted in the 2nd round of the NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets.
I’ve earned a NFHS National Parent Credential. I’m a licensed Paraprofessional, Accredited and Certified Level 1-3 Interscholastic Coach, Former Varsity Girls Head Basketball Coach 2022-2023 and fully accredited and certified Adaptive Sports Coach.
My philosophy in the role of Parent Coordinator will be echoing the parent’s scholastic goals. Your child’s success at Washington will greatly depend on your participation in school activities, parent coordinator meetings, and your child’s schoolwork and progress.
I’m very excited about the future of Washington High School and my opportunity to become a classroom coach, basketball coach and Parent Coordinator and build awesome parental and guardian relationships.
