Governors Council Meeting Flyer-22-23

Parents Governors Council

Every school has a School Governance Council (SGC) that enables parents, staff, students, and the community to work together in facilitating quality educational plans that engender continuous improvement of student achievement.

The purpose of a School Governance Council is to provide a forum for parents, teachers, community members, students, and principals to work together in providing continued analysis and improvement of public school policies, curriculum, school improvement plan goals, and general student well-being.

Each Milwaukee Public School has a School Governance Council consisting of parents (51%), a student (K-8, middle, and high schools), community representatives, school staff members, and the principal.

MPS Immunization Clinics

September 22, 2022 by R. Drews

With the 2022–23 school year underway, Milwaukee Public Schools is collaborating with the Milwaukee Health Department to host vaccine clinics at multiple locations. All MPS students, families who live at the same address, and staff are eligible.

Staying up to date on vaccines is essential to avoid illnesses like measles, mumps, chicken pox, whooping cough, and more. Adults and children can also receive COVID-19 vaccines and a flu shot as the cold and flu season approaches.

During your visit, clinic staff can check immunization records and recommend any needed vaccines.

Appointments are not needed. Interested families can visit any convenient location.
