Parents and guardians are a key component of effective schools and an integral part of Vieau’s educational program. Parent involvement begins at home, where the family is responsible for maintaining the child’s health and well-being, both physical and mental. Families also contribute to their child’s education by participating in decision-making at their child’s school and by joining organizations that reflect the community’s collaborative aspirations for all children. Parents, teachers, students and the community work together to ensure the success of each student at Vieau School.
Parents and families are always welcomed and encouraged to volunteer at Vieau School. By working together with the Vieau staff, parents can make a difference. Parent involvement helps to provide a safe and healthy, danger-free environment at Vieau. It also improves parent-child and school-community relationships by encouraging support for the school and increasing community awareness. When families provide a strong support network for their child, student confidence and self-esteem is enhanced, resulting in higher grades and test scores.
The Parent/Family Coordinator at Vieau is available to assist families at all times. Please feel free to call the coordinator at (414) 902-6176 or stop in with your questions.
