Victory School’s Italian Immersion Program was launched in September 2006 beginning with four-year-old kindergarten. The program is believed to be the first of its kind in the United States. Throughout the school day, students are taught exclusively in Italian as they learn about the Italian language and culture. As the students progress through the grade levels, they continue studying Italian in an effort to become fully immersed in the language and culture. While learning a new language and developing fundamental skills for success in the classroom, students explore the rich heritage of Italy.
We stress the importance of learning a second language in a community that is becoming increasingly diverse. Bilingual skills offer many opportunities for students to enhance academic achievement and build self-confidence. By debuting the Italian Immersion Program, Victory School is providing MPS students with the tools necessary for future success.
The Italian Immersion Program is supported by our amazing Italian Immersion parents and staff, the Order Sons of Italy/Mazzei Lodge, WisItalia, the National Italian-American Foundation, and the Italian Community Center (ICC).
All of our Italian teachers are Highly-Qualified as well as fluent or native speakers of Italian.
Currently, our Italian Immersion program has availability from K4 – 5th grade. Stop by our staff tab and discover our Italian Immersion teachers. Forza Italia!
