Cream City Links
The Links, Incorporated has celebrated more than 65 years of service as a volunteer women’s organization committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. The Cream City (WI) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated is focused on creating transformational programming and impacting lives in our community. Through their dedication and service to youth, the Links have provided much needed support in the form of hats and gloves for all students in the winter, backpacks with supplies to sustain students throughout the school year, a comfortable home-like reading corner to sustain and excel in the Cream City (WI) Links Reading Challenge, as well as valuable community experiences for our students with Marquette University and Marcus Theaters to view the ground breaking movie, Hidden Figures. We love, thank, and appreciate the Links for their commitment to education and to the wonderful support for our students!
Colleges and Universities
Siefert Elementary School has partnerships with several colleges and universities in Milwaukee and the surrounding communities. Students from Marquette University, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Milwaukee Area Technical College, and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater are matched with cooperating teachers at Siefert and assist with both student teaching and field work in our classrooms. Siefert teachers are given the opportunity to act as mentors for future educators, and our students benefit from the extra attention and innovative ideas that result from these collaborative partnerships.
