Parent/Guardian participation is our most important partnership and is highly encouraged at Sherman Multicultural Arts School. Your involvement is critical for your child(ren) to succeed academically and grow emotionally. You can support the Sherman community by:
- Ensuring that your child arrives to school on time every day (7:20 a.m.);
- Calling the Sherman office when your child is absent at (414) 874-5800;
- Ensuring that your child gets the proper amount of sleep every night;
- Checking your child’s bookbag every day;
- Reading with your child daily;
- Assisting your child with homework;
- Dressing your child appropriately according to the weather.
Attendance
Attendance is very important at Sherman School. Please make sure that your child(ren) are at school, on time, every day. The school day starts at 7:20am and ends at 2:20 pm. If your child(ren) will be absent, please make sure to let the office know by calling (414) 874-5800. Thank you for supporting your child(ren)’s attendance at school!
Classroom Assistance/Volunteering

Parent Resource Center
Parents and guardians are encouraged to come to Sherman and assist teachers in their classrooms. This allows children to combine support from home with support at school, making for positive results. We have a full-time parent coordinator, Pamela Talmadge. Please contact Pamela at (414) 874-5834 or talmadpj@milwaukee.k12.wi.us to learn more about how you can help in the classroom.
