Parents are always welcome to visit Rogers Street Academy. Please stop by the main office before going to a classroom to obtain a visitor’s pass.
There are several ways we encourage parental involvement:
-Volunteering: We welcome parents to volunteer any time. If you would like to volunteer on an on-going basis, you must first apply. The volunteer application is found here: http://mps.milwaukee.k12.wi.us/en/Community/Get-Involved/Volunteer.htm. A background check will be conducted. Once cleared, someone will notify you by mail and/or phone call.
-School Governance Council: Parents can voice their opinions and ideas during our monthly meetings! Anyone wanting to become a member of the School Engagement Council may speak to the school’s Parent Coordinator, Ms. Ayala, for more information. Our meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month, at 8:00am in the main office.
-PTO: Any parents or guardians are welcomed to attend our monthly PTO meetings usually held the second Thursday of the month at 8:00am. Come and listen to important information regarding the school, community partnership presentations, make-and-take, or other activities.
-Fundraising: Fundraisers are held from time to time to benefit our PTO and go towards funding for special events. Some ways we fundraiser are by having a churro sale, family nights at a local business or restaurant, Club’s Choice, etc. If you have an idea or would like to help out, please contact Ms. Ayala, the Parent Coordinator.
-Parent Center: Our Parent Center is opened for YOU! Come stop by in Room 126 if you require assistance or need information regarding our school or other resources. We encourage parents to visit the Parent Center!
Make sure you look at our calendar here for important dates and upcoming events!
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the information listed above, or anything that comes to mind, please call Mrs. Monica Hernandez, the Parent Coordinator, at (414) 902-1141.
