Milwaukee Parkside School for the Arts has a unique integrated arts approach to learning, a strong parental support system, and continued community involvement, which all contribute to the high level of student academic achievement. As a part of the arts integrated focus, Parkside also follows a thematic and project based approach to promote learning in the core curriculum areas of language arts, math, reading, science, and social studies. Students participate in instrumental music lessons and dance classes along with art, music and physical education specialist classes on a weekly/daily basis.
Milwaukee Parkside students work with our community partners at Arts@Large, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, First Stage Children’s Theater, Milwaukee Children’s Choir, Danceworks, Madhot Ballroom and Tap, Junior Achievement, Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Milwaukee Ballet to engage in wonderful arts integrated curriculum and experiences.
Milwaukee Parkside School for the Arts was started in the 2013-2014 school year with the merger of Dover School and Tippecanoe School for the Arts & Humanities! The merger has strengthened the schools with an integrated arts approach to learning and has built a united sense of community for the two schools.
