Milwaukee Public Schools is committed to providing the best possible educational experience for all students. As part of our district’s Strategic Plan, we are “right-sizing” to better serve our students and families. This means carefully analyzing enrollment patterns, space allocation, program equity, and student-teacher ratios to ensure we are using our resources effectively.
To address declining enrollment in the lower grades at both WCLL and Obama SCTE, and to reduce the number of split grade levels, we are proposing a transition for these two schools. This will allow us to create more focused learning environments and enhance program offerings in spaces that are better suited to the needs of our students and staff.
Specifically, we are proposing that:
- Wisconsin Conservatory of Lifelong Learning (WCLL) transition to a K-8 campus.
- Obama School of Career and Technical Education (SCTE) transition to a 6-12 campus.
These changes would take effect beginning with the 2025-26 school year.
Your input is invaluable as we consider this proposal. Please share your thoughts and feedback by completing this survey before March 13, 2025: [Survey Link]
