Connections between home and school are critical to a successful educational experience. Reinforcing the Code of Conduct at home through discussions and by example strengthen a child’s character. The Code of Conduct not only helps students at school, but also teaches life lessons of respect, work ethic and positive relationships with peers and with adults.
Families are asked to help their child make good choices and develop responsibility for their learning and actions. The following expectations are ways in which families can stay involved and support their child’s education:
- Supply students with pencils, paper and other required class materials
- Review and discuss child’s planner daily to ensure he/she is completing work, working on projects, and studying for tests and quizzes.
- Provide students with a quiet work space to complete all homework assignments
- Stay informed of student progress through Infinite Campus, teacher emails, phone calls, and other forms of teacher communication
- Talk to your child about their relationships with their peers. Report bullying or inappropriate interactions to teachers or school administration.
- Attend Parent Teacher Conferences in the Fall and Spring
- Get involved in the PTSA and other MSL events
