8th Grade Soaring to High School Week

Location: Milwaukee School of Languages Middle School
Description: May 1st – May 5th, is 8th Grade Soaring to High School Week. Throughout the week, MSL 8th grade students are encouraged to have and maintain a high school ready mindset.
Activities:

- Words of Wisdom Videos– A high school guest speaker will be invited to answer a high school-related question. Videos of their responses will be posted on home base ACP Google classrooms. See (draft of email on page 2)

- Jumpstart the week with autographs and supportive messages from your fellow peers. Keep your autograph sheet posted on your locker throughout the week, so your friends can drop by to sign it.
- Autographs will be distributed to students during home base.

- Tuesday: What’s a High School-Ready Student?

- Complete the What is a “High School Ready” Student Google slides during your ACP home base time. First ten students to show Mrs. Anderson their completed worksheet gets a special prize!!

- Thursday: HIGH SCHOOL BOUND DAY

- Make it official by signing your HIGH SCHOOL BOUND Certificate during homebase. Let us know where you will be attending high school!

- Friday: MSL HAWK DAY

- As you venture into the future, don’t forget about your roots. Come to school dressed in your favorite MSL spirit wear. Don’t have any? Come dressed in MSL school colors (blue, white, and gray)! In addition, get a cool treat during lunch time.
