An art student at MHSA is curious about the world they inhabit. They explore the process, how we take what we see and create new worlds. Our students demonstrate an intense interest in creating art and openness and enthusiasm for learning about art and artists. Our intensive program begins with drawing and a variety of two- and three-dimensional activities, and expands to include a multitude of design, tech and multimedia projects. Students gain an understanding of current and historic artworks and ideas through special classes, contacts with artists, and museum/gallery visits.
The Visual Art & Design program is designed to meet the needs of students who are preparing for the competitive world of art schools and other art related fields.
