The MHSA dance training program is designed to produce a versatile dancer, knowledgeable in ballet, modern, jazz, African, tap, musical theater, and the business of being a dancer. With at least one dance class a day, the dancers at MHSA are committed to exploring the study of dance and building strong foundations for a life-long love of dance.
Covering a wide range of repertoire, our dancers strengthen their skills as artists and performers. While some students arrive with years of training, many students arrive with little to no formal experience with dance, proving that it is passion and hard work that truly make a dancer. Many of our students continue the study of dance in secondary education, and graduates of MHSA have gone on to join many dance companies in the country.
- Beginning to advanced study in modern, ballet, and jazz dance.
- Workshops in tap, African dance, musical theater, aerobics, composition, and improvisation.
- Academic dance areas covered include anatomy, nutrition, injury prevention and treatment, dance history, and writing for the professional dancer.
