Every MPS student is eligible to receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. At this time we are not offering an a la carte milk. If a student would like a milk at lunch, have them sign up for our fee free school lunch which includes a milk.
School Nutrition Information
Milwaukee Public Schools follow federal nutrition guidelines serving more fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy than ever before. School nutrition professionals prepare and serve balanced, nutritious meals in age-appropriate portion sizes that provide needed nutrition and promote healthy childhood weights. School lunch provides one-third of the recommended dietary allowances of protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, iron, calcium and calories. School breakfast provides one-fourth of the recommended calories and nutrients per day.
Maryland Avenue Montessori School offers universally fee-free breakfast and lunch at school.
Students may choose to bring a cold lunch. Families are encouraged to send a balanced, nutritious meal.
Children are not allowed to drink sodas or eat candy with their lunches.
We make every effort to be a nut-free friendly campus to ensure school environment for all students. Please support us in this mission by trying to exclude nuts and nut-based butters from your child’s lunches and snacks.
Maryland Avenue Montessori offers a universally fee free breakfast to any child who would like one.
