James Madison Academic Campus (JMAC) is a comprehensive, community high school on Milwaukee’s northwest side. James Madison Academic Campus is a community school where all students are guided by attentive and caring staff to become well taught scholars who are “Future Ready”.
James Madison Academic Campus is also a Community School participating in The Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership (MCSP) with the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties. The MCSP is a collective strategy to transform schools into a place where students, families, staff, and the surrounding community can work together to ensure every student is successful. Community Schools is a proven model to increase a school’s capacity to better engage and align partnerships centered on the self-identified, real-time priorities of schools and communities. Our strategy places the focus on the whole child by providing academic supports, social & emotional learning, health & wellness, family & community engagement, and a safe and supportive climate.
In addition to being a community school, we offer a challenging curriculum including AP and Honors courses. We are a National Academy Foundation (NAF) School that offers three academies that students can choose to participate in: Academy of Health Sciences, Academy of Finance and Academy of Hospitality and Tourism. We also offer two alternative programs: GED-O2 and Competency Based.
Beyond classroom learning, students may participate in athletics and a variety of clubs. Our student leaders work within the school and the greater community to create a positive school culture.
We encourage students to show strong character, develop leadership skills and be positive role models so that our graduates enhance our future.
