We at MACL believe that communication with families is critical in the education of a child. Please read the MACL Family School Manual to become better acquainted with the resources and support available to students and families. 👇

At MACL, we are interested in having good communication between parents and the school staff to promote a successful educational experience for all students. Parents are encouraged to call or email the classroom teacher if there is ever a concern or question. If a teacher is not available, please leave your name and number and the teacher will return your call as soon as possible. Your attendance at Parent/Teacher conferences, held once in the fall and once in the spring is vital. Your presence sends your child a positive message that his/her education is important. Notification of dates and times is sent home with students. If you are unable to attend, please contact your child’s teacher to schedule an alternate date and time that is convenient for you.
We want to welcome our new Parent Coordinator, Ampire Ntabala. She can assist you in various ways regarding both school and community questions. She can be contacted at ntabala@milwaukee.k12.wi.us or 414.934.4274.
Parent – Teacher Organization (PTO)
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is the organization that sponsors many events during the school year. They sponsor such things as the Ice Cream Social, Open House, Volunteer Appreciation Week, and several other fun parent events. The PTO also sponsors the Winter Holiday Program where the students sing holiday songs to entertain their families and friends. Thanks to monies raised through the PTO fund raisers, each child at MACL School is able to select three free books a year through RIF (Reading is Fundamental) Program, as well as have other educational materials provided for them. All families are encouraged to join the PTO. The membership fee is $5.00 per family per year. All of the membership fee dollars stay at school and benefit the students. The main membership drive is during Open House in the fall. A school flyer is sent home with students to provide all families the opportunity to support the students. All families are encouraged to participate in the annual fund raiser, since that is how all of the educational programs are financed. Without your support, MACL would not be able to continue to be a success.
Governance Council
The MACL Governance Council consists of the principal, staff members, parents and community members. The purpose of the council is to provide an opportunity for the members to work together to provide ideas for school improvement. The focus for the Council includes; curriculum, budget, educational plan and school safety. Council members will meet at least once a month to discuss these issues. The meetings are open to all and information will be published in the school’s monthly calendar.
