Students in the International Newcomer Center attended the Milwaukee Fire Department’s Survive Alive House.Β Students first learned various safety tips to help them and their families plan ahead in case a fire happens.Β Then, they learned what to do if the alarm sounds and how to safely escape a building.
Finally, students participated in a simulation of a house fire and practiced escaping, calling 911, and ensuring their family was safely outside at the meeting place.
Earlier in the year, MACL 5th graders also experienced Survive Alive House. Thank you to the Milwaukee Fire Department for this incredible opportunity in providing our students with life-saving knowledge! π₯π©βπ
