Miss Sivek, a teacher in the International Newcomer Center, was chosen as a 2023 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Teacher Fellow. A statewide committee of civic leaders and representatives of education-related associations, including regional Cooperative Educational Service Agencies (CESA) and Association of Wisconsin School Administrators select nominees for the second and final round of this competitive award. Miss Sivek was selected for her skill as a leader and agent for positive change, and for her superior ability to inspire students’ motivation and love for learning. In addition to her own monetary award, MACL will receive a $6,000 grant to support student learning and exploration.
