DECISION DAY
MacDowell’s Class of 2023 were celebrated on May 1st as they declared their decision for post-secondary success. The class of 2023 is headed off to colleges and university programs like Marquette University, UWM, HBCUs, technical school programs like MATC, and several students are entering Wisconsin Trades Unions. Congratulations Seniors! Check out our Facebook post for additional photos. Our student’s custom decision day posters can be viewed in our ground floor hallway.
AUTHOR VISIT
MacDowell students in 3rd and 4th grade enjoyed a special Author Visit in our library last week sponsored and organized by our Lower Elementary teacher, Ms. Lee, and local bookseller, Boswell Book Company. Children’s author, James Riley, met with almost 100 students and shared his experience of becoming a writer. His presentation was an important lesson on the writing process combined with an introduction to the characters and plot of his books and series mixed with lots of humor (cat memes are always funny!). We are grateful to Jenny Chou at Boswell Books for the donation of books for all of the elementary classrooms. The library also acquired a few of his titles that were immediately checked out by excited patrons!
