A NOTE FROM PRINCIPAL CORONA
HALLOWEEN AT MACDOWELL: We understand that Halloween is an exciting time for the children and we hope that there will be many ways that they celebrate the holiday with their family at home. At MacDowell we do not have Halloween celebrations in the classroom; this is so that we can keep the school day consistent and free from distraction for all of our students and support the students’ learning and focus while they are at school. Please note: Children are not to come to school with candy or arrive dressed in Halloween costume.
Thank you for your understanding.

PEOPLE PROGRAM PRESS RELEASE
Congratulations to our 9th-grade students who were accepted into the PEOPLE Program! The PEOPLE Program is a precollege pipeline scholarship program through UW Madison. This program prepares students to be a viable college candidate through a variety of supports throughout high school, such as tutoring, practice ACT exams, character development activities, assistance with completing college applications, financial aid and scholarship forms, and visits to UW System campuses.
There were 100 PEOPLE Program seats opened up for 9th Graders in the City of Milwaukee this year, and 14 MacDowell 9th Graders were accepted! More than 20% of our 9th grade class will benefit from this fantastic opportunity.
Students who successfully complete the PEOPLE program will receive a full scholarship to UW Madison. We are so proud of our newest PEOPLE Program students!
