Discuss your child’s progress with his or her teachers. Attend parent/teacher conferences, or arrange for a special conference with your child’s teacher. If time does not permit, a phone call or a brief note is appreciated.
Assist your child with homework. Your child’s teacher will communicate with you about the type of homework that is appropriate for your child. Be sure to provide a quiet time and place for homework.
Volunteer
Families play a vital role in education. Parents are encouraged to work with teachers to decide on an appropriate time to visit their child’s classroom, discuss student progress and share ways to increase learning. Reports are sent home to parents and conferences are scheduled regularly to assess each student’s progress. Staff will honor parental requests for additional conferences, meetings or reports at any time.
We have very active parent volunteers. We are always looking for more caring, motivated individuals to work with our students. Volunteers are a wonderful supplement to the educational experience of children in Milwaukee Public Schools.
