The Gaenslen Boys & Girls Clubs Community Learning Center (CLC) is one of the oldest CLC’s in the Milwaukee Public School System. Our program focuses on providing academic support to those students who need it most, while also providing them with recreational, social activities and a meal during their time in the program.
The CLC is open Monday – Friday from 2:35 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. In order to enroll into the Gaenslen CLC program, students must be in 1st – 8th grade. If members do not fit these criteria, they can enroll into the Gaenslen Daycare program which takes K4 & K5 students.
The Gaenslen CLC program schedule is as follows:
- 2:35pm – 3:00pm – Dinner
- 3:00pm – 3:30pm – Homework
- 3:30pm – 4:00pm – Academic Enrichment Programming
- 4:00pm – 5:00pm – Recreational Programming
- 5:00pm – 6:00pm – Recreational Programming
Throughout the afternoon, students will have time to get assistance with their homework, participate in additional academic enrichment programming and then rotate through the game room, gym, art and computer lab. Activities include: science programming, dance, basketball & other sports leagues, board games, swimming and other low and high impact organized games.
The CLC program has a limited number of students that we can enroll in the program. Families who qualify for W-2 Child Care are encouraged to authorize the Gaenslen Boys & Girls Clubs as their child care provider. If you need information on how to get enrolled in child care, call Roy Cambronero, Family Services Specialist at 414-874- 01017.
The Gaenslen Boys & Girls Clubs CLC program strives to provide a positive place for kids to express themselves and to be involved in various recreational opportunities. We are dedicated to ensuring that all members excel and reach their highest potential.
