I taught 8th Grade English for 14 years before moving into Curriculum and Instruction and then administration. I believe that all students are beautiful, intelligent, and talented in their own ways. My favorite color is black, and I can eat seafood on a daily basis! My past times are traveling with my children, hanging out with my Bullmastiff, and listening to great music. I am looking forward to a great year with all of you!

I believe that it takes a village working together, to get and keep our students on the path of a bright and successful future. Together we CAN and Together we WILL.
Ms. Smith – Dean of Students
Welcome! I am Ms. Smith, Dean of Students at Andrew S Douglas Middle School. I have been with Milwaukee Public Schools for 23 years; 19 as a teacher and the past 4 years as an administrator. My educational journey has taken me from being a proud graduate of Milwaukee Public Schools to receiving my Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Mary University, and my Master’s Degree from Cardinal Stritch University. The WHY I chose to be an educator is… to provide guidance to our students, to be an advocate for those students without a voice, to cultivate students to become future leaders and critical thinkers, and to provide opportunities that will expose them to new ideas and experiences outside their community. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” ~ Nelson Mandela
