Reflo works with five Milwaukee-area schools per year in an intensive, collaborative process to design greener, healthier schoolyards. Each project is tailored to the specific needs and enthusiasm of the school’s community but often involves replacing seas of asphalt with green spaces including bioswales, rain gardens, and trees. The placemaking designs go beyond simply removing pavement, however, to maximize triple-bottom-line benefits. https://refloh2o.com/about-reflo
McDonald’s provides coupon incentives to support student reading programs and Literacy Lotto, a school program where students may receive free books. The school community, in turn, collects aluminum can tabs to donate for funding of the Ronald McDonald House.
Bay View Community Center
The school community supports our local Community Center food pantry through holiday and seasonal food collections.
ResiDANCE Program with the Milwaukee Ballet
Students in primary and middle school grades visit the ballet, view behind the scenes, enjoy professional performances with the entire school, work out with professional dancers, see the choreographer work with dancers live…this program brings the amazing ballet experience to life by working with classes in a variety of settings
We believe in giving back to the communities we serve, not just with money and resources but also with talent and time. Through our community giving and volunteer program, we support kids’ health and education, environmental initiatives nationwide and women’s health in Wisconsin, specifically the fight against breast cancer. We envision a future where kids are healthy, resources are plentiful and disease that affects women and their families is eradicated. Because the way we see it, giving back also means looking ahead.
