Academic Achievements and Awards

Bay View Montessori School is among the top schools in the MPS district to have the largest percentage of Super Readers! Our parents are committed to help their children learn and improve their children’s reading and to introduce them to continual literacy experiences.

In Addition, these are some of the achievements of our staff and students:

  • We have one of the highest rates of attendance in the district with an average of over 96% of students attending daily.
  • We have few suspensions, because we intervene daily to teach students appropriate behavior.
  • According to STAR data, our students have a narrow achievement gap. The achievement gap in the United States refers to “the observed, persistent disparity in measures of educational performance among subgroups of U.S. students, especially groups defined by socioeconomic status (SES),race/ethnicity and gender.”
  • This means that if you want a teacher to give your child individual attention – Bay View Montessori is the place to send him/her. Our daily interventions and approach to learning helps every student to achieve.
  • We have been recognized yearly for our behavioral, math and reading performances by the State Department of Public Instruction.
  • We have a sensational drama club and a Junior Lego League. Without committed staff and parents, these programs would not exist.

For an expanding school, Bay View Montessori School has maintained and continues to meet high standards with offerings of additional after-school opportunities. With our dual campus, we were awarded the Green Infrastructure Grant for the layout of the Upper Campus playground. This was completed during the summer of 2021. We have achieved our mission to expand outdoor exploration in nature for our students to align with the Montessori curriculum. In addition, our older students will continue to develop relationships within the community, especially with Bay View High School for exploration to learn outside of the classroom. Our Fund, under the MPS Foundation, is the key to our large fund raising efforts. Donations are always welcome.
