Purpose and Mission/Vision
The purpose of the School Engagement Council (SEC) is to provide a forum for parents, teachers, community members, students and principals to work together in providing continued analysis and improvement of public school policies, curriculum and the School Improvement Plan. The council’s decision-making authority is advisory with respect to all duties, powers and responsibilities, with the sole exception of the council’s authority and responsibility to submit a signature page with its school’s annual budget and the school’s annual School Improvement Plan. Council participation is on a voluntary basis via a school-based election process. The council is not intended to replace a parent organization.
The SEC reviews and helps the school carrying out our mission and vision for students, families, and staff.
