Hello BVM Families,
We are thrilled to have your children continuing at our school.
I will continue to update and communicate with you frequently via the MPS email system. Our Bay View Montessori newsletter will still be delivered through our school website and school messenger once a week on Fridays. You will also receive updates throughout the week as needed. Our website is also a “one stop shop” to stay informed about the happenings in our community.
Another way to receive personalized information and be engaged in conversations related to the Bay View Montessori community is to attend our monthly PTO meetings. We will post the schedule for our meetings on the school calendar each month (available on our website) and through email.
The elementary/adolescent students are welcome to participate in sports and after school activities. For this upcoming school year, MPS schools will receive additional ESSER funds to support more after and before school activities and programs to our students. We are in the planning stages for those activities.
Families may celebrate the labors of 5 years of planning our new upper campus playground. We developed an environmentally friendly space for students with the inclusion of upgrades to the basketball courts, track, soccer field and climbing structure. Please take the time to walk through the meadow, the four outdoor classrooms and along the bricked edge pathways to see the engraving of contributors to our cause.
The bio-swales have served as learning experience, as they meet the needs of preventing water run-off into the sewer system. Your children learn about the benefits of these water saving and positive impact on the environment. They benefit from a true environmental Montessori education by caring for the earth and seeing how the addition of trees and permeable surfaces have helped our planet.
At our lower campus on Howard Avenue, the primary children will be able to use a new outdoor classroom on the playground this school year. Through federal funding, every MPS school is receiving an outdoor classroom. We have 4 outdoor classrooms at our upper campus.
We are here working to support you. We are available at (414) 935-0700 (Lower Campus) and (414)-914-9800 for direct access to the Upper Campus and will respond to emails. If you dial 935-0700 you will go through a voice mail of campus selections. To bypass those choices, press “0” and you will be connected to a secretary. We will transfer calls between buildings when necessary.
The MPS website is a great source to stay updated on the latest news from the district. Please do not hesitate to ask us for anything you need!
My door is always open to you. It is best to call the upper campus to have our secretary reach me (914-9800) as I am between buildings. Otherwise, email me and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
With Best Regards,
