Vision
Lynde and Harry Bradley School of Technology and Trades will be the flagship program for technology and trade education in Milwaukee Public Schools by maintaining leading edge technology in a state of the art facility, enabling students to meet performance standards in trade/technical, academic, and employability skills. The implementation of this vision will result in increasingly larger numbers of students entering and successfully completing post-secondary education and training options which lead to careers in trade and technical business and industry.
Goals
The following goals will provide the focus for the instructional program
- To develop and maintain cutting edge technological programs in the areas of communication, construction, and manufacturing that will enable students to experience success in the classroom and in the careers and professions of the twenty-first century
- To prepare students for technical careers by meeting national industrial skills and performance standards established by state or national certification bodies. Standards exist in three basic areas: academic or core content, technical content and employability skills.
- To prepare students for post-secondary options by providing for entry level employment in high-skill, high-wage careers, formal skill training in adult apprenticeship, and two or four year continuing educational opportunities
- To develop a faculty and instructional staff, drawn from the trades, industry, technical schools, and universities, which will possess and maintain the skills, knowledge and expertise needed to deliver the curriculum.
- To increase the number and enhance the quality of graduates, allowing them to enter and succeed in a variety of trade and technical career pathways and professions; and
- To create and engage the larger school community in the support of students.
