The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra’s Arts in Community Education (ACE) Program enhances students’ education through the integration of the Arts into the school curriculum. Each grade level from K5- 5th grade has a theme:
- K5: Families
- 1st: Storytellers
- 2nd: Detectives
- 3rd: Architects
- 4th: Explorers
- 5th: Inventors
There is a repertoire of music that accompanies each theme, which is taught in music class and reinforced in the grade level classroom. At the end of the year, students take a trip to the Marcus Center to see the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra perform this music in concert. In addition, several different artists visit classrooms throughout the year to reinforce the theme, and learners complete a final project pertaining to the theme.
